4 Whole Cloves
2 Cardamom Pods, broken
1 Cinnamon Stick, broken
1/4 inch Fresh Ginger, chopped
6 Black Peppercorns
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
2 1/2 Water
2 1/2 Milk
4 tbsp Ceylon or Assam Black Tea


  1. Add spices, water and bring to a boil. Simmer on low for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the milk to the pan and bring to a boil again.
  3. Add tea and bring to a boil again.
  4. Strain into a warmed teapot or directly into teacups.
  5. Add sugar or honey to taste.
